our story

Our organization was founded by Ronita Elease Elder in 1999 to provide a comprehensive sports experience for underserved children in Los Angeles. While the organization has evolved to serve all ages in all communities, its outreach has expanded from local to global and it’s commitment has remained the same: promoting social entrepreneurship and healthy lifestyles. Today, Ronita’s son, Cliff joins his mother in sharing the power of sports and nutrition and how the combination of the two can change lives at any age.

Sports Explorer Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity and Community Tennis Association (CTA) affiliate. Ronita Elease Elder is a lifetime member of the American Tennis Association (ATA) and the United States Tennis Association (USTA). Sports Explorer is a USTA and CTA member in good standing.

Meet our team

Cliff Frazier III

President & Brand Ambassador

As the face of Sports Explorer Inc., Cliff is actively dedicated to outreach through cultivating community relationships and furthering the mission of the organization. Growing up at his mother’s side on L.A. tennis courts and as a collegiate player, Cliff developed a love for coaching and is now focused on recognition and the expansion of the Aces4Kids program.

Having earned a Music Business degree in Communications and Media Studies, Coach Frazier also manages Sports Explorer Inc.’s marketing, public relations, and school and community partnerships.

Ronita Elease Elder

Founder & Executive Director

A former professional tennis player, Ronita Elease Elder has more than 30 years experience in tennis and wellness education. Bringing together her professional career and elite coaching background, she serves as our Executive Director. Ronita was also former Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the Southern California Tennis Association. Recognized widely as an ambassador in the tennis community, Ronita was awarded the Delaine Mast Award in 2006.
